Description of Freud LM71M010 10-Inch 18 Tooth FTG Thick Stock High Speed Ripping Saw Blade with 5/8-Inch Arbor

This blade is ideal for high-speed ripping operations in hardwood and softwood. The low tooth count also makes this blade ideal for ripping thick material. It can be used with feeders in single or gang-ripping operations. The ideal working range is 1-1/2" to 3-1/2" thick. Thinner or thicker material may be cut, but some loss of surface finish may occur. Application: Glue Line Joints In Thick Stock (1-1/2" - 3-1/2")
Designed for serious woodworkers, the 10-inch Freud LM71M010 Thick Stock Industrial Rip Saw Blade makes quick work of high-speed ripping operations in hard- and softwood. It features 18 flat, oversized teeth with thick TiCo high-density carbide tips designed to last, and Freud's Silver I.C.E. coating, which reduces friction, prevents heat buildup, and resists gumming.

Industrial-Strength Blade Cuts Glue Line Joints in Thick Stock
Quick and accurate, this Freud LM71M010 rip saw blade cuts glue line joints in hard- or softwood, as well as other high-speed ripping applications. Ideal for working with materials that are 1-1/2 to 3-1/2 inches thick, it can be used in manual feeding situations or with power feeders, and it can handle both single- and gang-rip operations. It has a 5/8-inch arbor and produces a 0.153 kerf.

In addition to offering faster cuts through thick materials, its large-tooth design allows the blade to be safely sharpened more times, prolonging the life of the blade and saving you money. Also, the large gullets between the teeth ensure easy chip removal.

Well-Balanced, Anti-Vibration Design
This Freud blade is pretensioned for truer cuts under heavy loads. It also features an anti-vibration design that reduces chatter for a cleaner finish, longer blade life, and reduced noise while you work. And because the blade is laser cut from high-strength steel, you can trust that it will stay stable, flat, and true, even after prolonged use.

High-Density Carbide for Maximum Cutting Performance
This thick-stock, rip saw blade's 18 teeth are finished with tips made from an application-specific TiCo high-density carbide that offers improved hardness, corrosion resistance, and heat resistance.

Ideal for the demands of ripping large quantities of thick, hard wood, this carbide blend includes extra cobalt for increased impact resistance. In addition, it delivers increased sharpness and edge retention, which means the blade will hold up longer--saving you money.

Silver I.C.E. Coating Resists Corrosion, Heat, and Resin Buildup
This blade is finished with Freud's Silver I.C.E. coating, which resists corrosion for improved performance over time. This unique coating also resists heat buildup, protecting your saw and your work surface, and preventing the blade from warping. It also helps prevent resin or "pitch" buildup.

Since gummy pitch buildup causes extra drag on the motor of your saw, less buildup means longer tool life and longer blade life. It also means less downtime for blade cleaning, so you get jobs done faster.

This industrial saw blade is backed by Freud's limited lifetime warranty.

Tools and Hardware Reviews of Freud LM71M010 10-Inch 18 Tooth FTG Thick Stock High Speed Ripping Saw Blade with 5/8-Inch Arbor

Customer Review: Ultimate Rip Blade
Summary: 5 Stars

I am a contractor building high end custom homes at Lake Tahoe. I use this blade for ripping thick stock of mostly redwood and western red cedar. The pieces are mostly for exterior window and door trim. I love this blade. It will rip very fast. The motor of my table saw does not have to work very hard either. The sawdust tends to be kind of shaggy and will clog the exhaust port of the saw. I blow the saw out frequently with compressed air. I use a lot of salvaged wood and have occasionally hit a nail. So far the blade is holding up very well. The thick kerf wastes a little wood but the blade is less likely to heat up and warp like blades with thinner kerfs and more teeth. The finish is pretty smooth considering there is only 18 teeth. I prefer a rougher finish for exterior trim anyway because it will hold stain or paint better. Often the surface is too smooth and I will drag the piece backwards on a bandsaw to roughen it and give it a resawn finish.
